Privacy Engineer (Hybrid) Role Overview: Could you be our next Privacy Engineer? Globe Life is looking for a Privacy Engineer to join the team! This role is responsible for transforming complex, high-volume information into clear, actionable insights that drive confident, informed decision-making across the organization. Working under the guidance of the Privacy Architecture Manager, the Privacy Engineer supports all aspects of the Privacy Architecture Program, ensuring compliance with federal and state privacy laws including GLBA, HIPAA, CCPA, PIPEDA, and the New Zealand Privacy Act. A core function of this position is the implementation and maintenance of Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs), equipping privacy leaders with accurate, timely, and relevant knowledge to navigate an ever-evolving regulatory landscape. This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX. (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday). What You Will Do: 3 Ensure privacy forms, policies, standards, and procedures are up-to-date, accurate, and within risk tolerance levels. 3 Perform initial and periodic information privacy risk assessment/analysis, mitigation, and remediation. 3 Conduct ongoing privacy compliance monitoring activities in coordination with the organization's other compliance and operational assessment functions. 3 Ensure the organization maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consents, authorization forms, information notices, and other materials reflecting current organizational and legal practices and requirements. 3 Work cross-functionally with other departments to provide guidance on the effectiveness of privacy controls. 3 Support privacy outreach and awareness-building. 3 Provide guidance to internal business partners regarding compliance with privacy regulations (SME). 3 Coordinate and collaborate with regulatory and compliance functions. 3 Conduct data privacy impact assessments. 3 Conduct Consent Management audits. 3 Perform and provide recommendations on privacy processes around Privacy Incident Investigations and Response, Privacy Program Assurance and Audits, Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments, and Stakeholder Communication and Management under the guidance of the Privacy Architecture Manager. 3 Research and stay current with privacy-related news and changes to policies. 3 Stay informed on applicable privacy laws and accreditation standards. 3 Research applicable laws, regulations, and standards that Globe Life must comply with. 3 Communicate effectively and proactively with ideas and recommendations for optimizing business operations, resources, and capacity to meet internal and external compliance goals. 3 Performs other duties as assigned. 3 Some travel may be required. What You Can Bring: 3 Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Information Assurance, or 5 years of equivalent experience preferred. 3 1 to 2 years in Software Development, Information Security, Privacy, and/or a GRC-related role. 3 Familiar with relevant privacy legislation, standards, and major compliance frameworks including CCPA, PIPEDA, GDPR, HIPAA, and the New Zealand Privacy Act. 3 Knowledge of Privacy by Design (PbD) principles, with exposure to implementing PbD, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and/or Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). 3 Experience in an operational risk program role, working with cross-functional teams, and conducting major compliance audits preferred. 3 CIPP/US or CIPP/C certification from IAPP required; CIPP/T, CISSP, CISM, or cloud privacy/security certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred. 3 High technical aptitude with strong knowledge of Cookie Consent Management Platforms, GRC tool Archer, IT solution architecture, and Microsoft Office Suite. 3 Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment to develop feasible solutions. 3 Excellent time management, task planning, and prioritization skills. 3 Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. 3 Ability to work independently and under pressure with a high level of integrity and trust.
