What You'll Do:

The Principal, Transformation Communications & Business Partnerships is a senior communications role that leads internal engagement and change communications in support of OCC's transformation, while serving as a trusted communications advisor to several business teams. Working closely with the Managing Director and Executive Principal, Strategic Business Partnerships, this individual translates enterprise strategy and narrative into day-to-day execution for the teams they support, ensuring OCC's transformation, growth initiatives and stakeholder engagement are communicated with clarity, consistency and impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Transformation Communications

• Support the development and execution of internal communications and change-management plans to advance OCC's transformation initiatives ensuring colleagues understand what is changing, why it matters and what is expected of them.
• Serve as the day-to-day communications lead for transformation-related workstreams, partnering with Organizational Change Management and project teams to align messaging, timing and channels.
• Develop toolkits, FAQs, leader talking points and manager cascades that translate enterprise transformation priorities into department- and team-level relevance and action.

Strategic Business Partnerships

• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for business partners, providing communications counsel informed by OCC's strategy, culture, regulatory environment and stakeholder landscape.
• Maintain and administer the systems, processes, and tools used to establish and sustain strategic partnerships with business leaders across the organization.
• Partner with Communication Leadership to explore and pilot expanded engagement strategies with external partners and policymakers as the model matures.

Communications Integration and Ecosystem Support

• Partner with the Communications Leadership to maintain and execute elements of the enterprise content calendar and communications playbooks, ensuring consistency across the teams supported.
• Coordinate with Communications functional leads (internal, external, creative) to ensure the work of supported business areas connects to the broader integrated model and enterprise narrative and translate stakeholder feedback into actionable recommendations.
• Compile data, insights and stakeholder feedback and translate them into actionable recommendations that refine communications strategies and demonstrate the value of the communications function.

Qualifications:

• Strong communications judgment and advisory skills, with the ability to counsel business leaders through change, ambiguity and fast-moving situations
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications skills, particularly for change and transformation communications, with the ability to translate strategy into audience-relevant messaging
• Experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives - such as organizational change, or market and regulatory engagement - with the ability to manage several concurrent workstreams
• Experience partnering with market-facing or regulated business functions (e.g., clearing, operations, member/client services, compliance) a plus
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate across multiple communications disciplines
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Proficiency in communication technology, AI and design platforms including SharePoint, Slack, Poppulo, Salesforce, Adobe Express preferred

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or English, OR in a related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and private/public sector experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in a communications, marketing or public relations role in the public or private sector, or with an agency
• Fintech, financial services or insurance industry experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with change/transformation communications and supporting business functions that engage market participants, clients or regulators
• Experience supporting or administering measurement frameworks for communications functions
• Change management experience required; regulated industry experience preferred

Compensation

• The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
• In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
• We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers
• All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range
$154,500.00 - $226,300.00

Incentive Range
18% to 25%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
