Full Job Description
WHAT WE DO:

Principal Technical Account Managers oversee integrations with inventory/publisher partners. The Principal TAM is responsible for the success of technical engagements across assigned partner integrations (both new and ongoing) by providing thought leadership on best practice implementations and technical guidance. They serve as senior liaisons between our partners and Engineering teams. This candidate isn't expected to build software but will leverage multiple technologies and tools to manage complex, custom integration projects. The Principal TAM is a solution oriented advisor who can understand and communicate advanced engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and who evangelizes The Trade Desk's value proposition and technology to partners. Beyond serving as a technical advisor, this person identifies new opportunities where our products can better serve partners' businesses and helps set the technical direction for the team's approach to inventory partnerships.

  • Coach - enjoys developing technical talent. Should have a passion for educating, training, and building the confidence of TAM team members to think critically about inventory integrations.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills - this candidate will interact with some of our company's largest inventory partners, providing timely, professional service while keeping projects on track, documenting client projects, and keeping the team updated on status.
  • Fast learner - candidate must be able to quickly grasp and explain new technical subjects. Must be curious, creative, and thorough.
  • Ability to influence people - superior partner relationship and account management skills, including the ability to influence and advocate for TTD's product and technology initiatives, even when it differs from what a partner initially proposed. Acts as a technical expert to consult partners toward the best solution.
  • Project management abilities - responsible for understanding department initiatives and executing them into actionable items across the team, managing long term (multi month) integrations, setting timelines, keeping stakeholders updated, and independently driving the process forward. Superb attention to detail required. Experience with a formal project management method is a plus.
  • Selfless team player - who works with deal makers and teams such Product, and Engineering to manage key technical relationships with inventory partners and derive maximum value from those partnerships. Must navigate and communicate across many different stakeholders and personalities.

Who you are:
  • 8+ years of work experience in a technical client-facing role
  • 3+ years of adtech or adjacent industry experience
  • Experience partnering with publishers, SSP's, or DSP's
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university
  • Experience with SQL, web technologies/web programming languages, and APIs
  • Demonstrable creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform in a fluid, fast-paced work environment
  • Experience working with clients, product, and engineering teams, with the ability to break down complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficient working knowledge of Excel, Office, and Outlook
  • Experience with digital advertising technology such as programmatic strongly preferred
  • Proficient in oRTB
  • CTV integration experience a plus

In accordance with various US state laws, the range provided is the Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is

$113,500-$208,100 USD
