Job Summary: The Principal Tech Consultant - Solution Architect will design and deliver scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing cloud-native enterprise applications. The role combines solution architecture, hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and cloud engineering, with a strong focus on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, modern frontend frameworks, and AWS. The architect will translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions and provide technical direction across application development, modernization, integration, security, DevOps, and cloud transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: • Define end-to-end architecture for enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, modern UI frameworks, and AWS. • Design scalable, secure, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud-native solutions. • Remain hands-on with development, prototyping, and implementation of critical application components. • Design and develop microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven applications. • Define frontend architecture using React or Angular and establish reusable UI patterns and standards. • Design AWS architectures using appropriate compute, container, serverless, storage, database, networking, and security services. • Develop architecture diagrams, solution designs, API specifications, integration patterns, and technical standards. • Lead application modernization and migration of enterprise workloads to AWS. • Design integrations across APIs, databases, messaging platforms, third-party systems, and enterprise applications. • Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards. • Develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate architectural approaches and emerging technologies. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Full Stack engineering teams. • Collaborate with Product Owners, business stakeholders, Security, DevOps, QA, and infrastructure teams. • Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security, observability, resilience, and maintainability. • Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and provide architecture- and code-level solutions. • Drive CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, and DevSecOps best practices. • Define observability, logging, tracing, monitoring, and reliability requirements for enterprise applications. Required Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, Full Stack development, and enterprise software engineering. • 7+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and distributed application architecture. • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions using AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecture. • 4+ years of experience with React or Angular, containerization, CI/CD, and enterprise application architecture and design. • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and JPA/Hibernate. • Strong experience with React or Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. • Strong understanding of microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems. • Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, EKS/ECS, SQS, SNS, and CloudWatch. • Experience with AWS IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, OAuth/OIDC, and API security. • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB. • Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, SQS, and SNS. • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS. • Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and CI/CD practices. • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation. • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, and Prometheus/Grafana. • Strong hands-on coding experience with the ability to develop critical application components and reference implementations. • Strong architecture, technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience architecting high-volume and highly available enterprise applications. • Experience with AWS serverless and event-driven architectures. • Experience modernizing and migrating legacy or on-premises applications to AWS. • Strong knowledge of API Gateway, API security, service-to-service authentication, and enterprise integration patterns. • Experience with Kafka and asynchronous or event-driven processing. • Strong understanding of Kubernetes and Amazon EKS architecture and container orchestration. • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation. • Knowledge of application security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, and secure coding practices. • Experience defining observability, logging, tracing, monitoring, and SRE requirements. • Experience leading technical teams and mentoring senior engineers. • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other large enterprise environments. Certifications: • AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification or equivalent certification is preferred.
