Job Summary
The Principal Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership across software architecture, engineering standards, platform modernization, and technology innovation. The role will drive the design and adoption of scalable, reliable, and high-performing software solutions while advancing engineering processes, reusable technologies, and architecture governance. The position combines architecture-level strategy with hands-on development and requires strong collaboration with engineering teams, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive and evangelize architecture strategies for new and existing platforms and applications.
• Provide technical leadership, strategic direction, consulting, standards, and technology guidance aligned with business objectives.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance architectures for existing business solutions and innovative technology initiatives.
• Lead and participate in the development of architecture strategies, frameworks, and architecture governance processes.
• Establish long-term software architecture direction to support sound technology investment decisions.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and product owners to improve transparency around engineering costs and develop appropriate service-level agreements.
• Accelerate standardization of engineering processes, software libraries, reusable components, tools, and technologies.
• Develop, train, and drive adoption of modern software engineering principles, guidelines, processes, reusable tools, and technologies.
• Promote consistency and standardization across engineering teams to streamline workflows and procedures.
• Enhance engineering processes with a focus on efficiency, collaboration, and scalability.
• Advance engineering maturity through technical leadership, best practices, and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Provide mentorship and identify engineering training and continuous learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for technological advancement and innovative solutions.
• Advise leaders and stakeholders on technical feasibility, technology selection, implementation approaches, and architecture for existing and new solutions.
• Lead hands-on development activities to establish architectures and drive organizational adoption.
• Support engineering teams in adopting DevSecOps principles, CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code.

Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Architect, or in a similarly technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in software frameworks, technologies, and development practices.
• Proven experience collaborating on technical projects with cross-functional teams.
• Deep hands-on development experience establishing software architecture and driving its adoption across an organization.
• Experience working with DevSecOps principles and industry deployment best practices using CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proven engineering leadership experience, including leading engineering teams and influencing cross-functional teams toward common technical objectives.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence technical decision-making.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear information for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project management experience, including Agile methodologies and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing software supporting business consulting or enterprise SaaS solutions.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in technology communities.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior engineers or technical peers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours when project requirements arise.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid office and remote environment.
• Willingness to travel based on client, team, and project requirements.
