Job title - Principal Substation Physical Engineer Location - Minneapolis, MN Job type - Hybrid Requisition ID - 11246 Stanley Consultants is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Principal Substation Physical Engineer with a strong background in high voltage substation design. Technical responsibilities will include the design of any / all the following: high and low voltage substation physical designs; computer modeling/analysis of electrical systems; preparation of specifications for equipment and systems; report preparation; applying codes and standards and performing and reviewing design calculations. Position will be responsible for leading design efforts and performing design duties with minimal supervision on multiple projects. Must be able to determine client requirements and coordinate technical efforts within discipline areas as necessary, coordinate with other disciplines as needed, manage a design budget and schedule, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in these areas. What You Will Be Doing: 3 Detailed physical design for high voltage substations3 Generating single line diagrams and general arrangements3 Detailed Elevations and section views3 Assembly and installation details3 Detailed bills of materials, bid units and material counts3 Coordination with other disciplines as needed3 Performing site visits for data gathering3 Writing material procurement and construction specifications & evaluating contractor bids3 Reviewing shop drawings3 Researching equipment and client standards3 Performs typical calculations such as equipment and conductor sizing, grounding and lightning protection3 Generating engineering fee estimates3 Providing field support during construction3 Mentors and teaches less experienced engineers and design staff3 Occasional overnight travel may be required for client meetings and or site visits Required Qualifications: 3 BS from and ABET accredited University3 15+ years of substation physical design experience3 Experience working directly with clients, supporting marketing proposals/efforts preferred3 Experience managing a design budget and schedule preferred3 Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills3 Must be able to work legally in the United States for any length of time3 PE license required $159,200 - $214,100 a year (Salary range for MN location) Stanley Consultants is committed to maintaining transparency in our hiring process, including providing information about compensation.
