Full Job Description
The Role: Principal, Strategy & Operations (Banking)

As a Principal of Strategy & Operations, you are critical to driving growth and profitability through Neo's product lines. You won't just contribute to growth; you will architect it. Strategy & Operations works alongside Marketing, Product and Engineering to design, build and operate products that our consumers love. You will have direct ownership of a core component of Neo's P&L. This role is a stepping stone to becoming a "General Manager" for one or more of Neo's product lines, translating high-level company vision into a rigorous, multi-year operational roadmap.

This is a high-leverage role designed for a strategic heavyweight who thrives on the ability to not just develop a strategy, but execute against it at velocity. You are expected to be a force multiplier, elevating the performance of the teams around you while navigating the complexities of the banking ecosystem.

What you'll be doing
  • Strategic Development: Identify, define, and execute against opportunities to drive incremental growth and profitability within Neo's deposit-based product lines. P&L Ownership: Take full accountability for a product withinNeo's P&L. You will optimize unit economics, manage profitability vs. growth trade-offs, and ensure the financial health of your business line meets aggressive scale targets.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Serve as the strategic "connective tissue" between Product, Marketing, and Finance. You will lead high-stakes workstreams to ensure product and feature launches are not only technically sound but commercially viable.
  • Advanced Analytics & Insight: Move beyond data collection to narrative-driven insights. You will build the frameworks that define how Neo measures success, using data to challenge assumptions and pivot strategies in real-time.
  • Institutional Stewardship: Partner directly with the Program leaderships and FP&A to ensure our roadmap is fully capitalized and aligned with investor expectations.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Raise the bar for the Strategy & Ops org by mentoring junior associates and establishing "best-in-class" operational standards across the company.

Who we are looking for
  • The Experience: 6-10+ years of experience in high-growth environments. This typically includes a background in top-tier management consulting (MBB), Private Equity, or Investment Banking followed by time within a high-growth start-up in a strategic or operational role.
  • The Mindset: You are a "Founder in a box." You possess the rare ability to zoom out to 30,000 feet for strategy and zoom in to the "nuts and bolts" of a spreadsheet and detailed operational performance.
  • Technical & Quantitative Mastery: Beyond being "proficient in Excel," you are an expert in financial modeling, strategic frameworking, and operational reporting. Experience with SQL/Python is expected.
  • Executive Presence: You are comfortable presenting to senior leadership, both internally and with critical partners externally. You can defend your positions with data, navigate friction with diplomacy, and drive consensus among strong personalities.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep familiarity with the Canadian financial landscape (Lending, Deposits, or Payments) is highly preferred. You understand the regulatory, operational, and competitive moats required to win in Banking.
  • Resilience: You have a proven track record of thriving in high-pressure, "move-fast-and-break-things" environments without sacrificing rigor or quality.
