Full Job Description
Siemens Digital Industries Software is looking for an experienced corporate development professional to help shape where the business grows next and to build the conviction behind the deals that take us there. Software is being remade in real time. AI is changing how products are built, how they are priced, and what makes a company defensible, and for a business of Siemens' scale, that puts a premium on people who can discern durable value from noise and act on the difference.

This is a senior individual contributor role that leads the front end of M&A, the stretch where deals are actually decided. You will develop investment theses, source and screen targets, build the deal pipeline, and carry priority opportunities from first idea through an approved offer: the strategic rationale, the valuation perspective, and the case that earns leadership's commitment to act. You will work directly with business leaders, strategy teams, and M&A colleagues across Siemens, delivering recommendations that reach the executives who decide where capital is deployed.

What you'll do

  • Help shape where and how Siemens pursues inorganic growth through acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships, bringing a point of view, not just analysis.
  • Build market perspectives, competitive landscapes, and investment theses that senior leaders use to make capital allocation decisions.
  • Source, screen, and evaluate M&A targets and investment opportunities for strategic fit, market dynamics, and long-term value creation.
  • Pressure-test how AI changes the calculus for the markets and companies we evaluate: which moats hold, which business models are exposed, and where value is migrating.
  • Lead priority opportunities through offer development, working cross-functionally to build the strategic rationale, valuation perspective, and proposal that earn the commitment to move forward. Turn analysis into clear, practical recommendations that senior executives can act on.

What you bring

  • Typically, 5+ years of proven experience evaluating markets, technologies, and companies and turning analysis into action.
  • That experience can come from many places: corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or from scaling a product, or operating inside a high-growth software business. The path matters less than the judgment it built.
  • A sharp analytical toolkit: market analysis, modeling, competitive assessment, and strategic rationale development, synthesized into something a decision-maker can act on.
  • Equal comfort crafting strategy and implementing it. Some months are about developing an investment thesis; others are about building the case that moves a live opportunity to an approved offer. The role requires both.
  • Real fluency in AI and data, with a working understanding of how it reshapes product development, driven moats, and software economics, and a feel for what today's tools can and can't do.
  • The ability to get smart on an unfamiliar market quickly, form a view, defend it, and update it when the evidence says you should.
  • Strong judgment, genuine curiosity, and clear, persuasive communication at the executive level.
  • Direct experience in enterprise software, SaaS, industrial software, or one of our segments is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required. An MBA or other advanced degree is welcome but not required - how you think matters more.

Who thrives in this role
  • Someone equally at home developing a strategy, evaluating a company in depth, and building the case that moves an opportunity from first idea to an approved offer. If that combination of strategy and execution describes the work you do best, this role could be ideal for you.
