Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Principal Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Global Defense Partners business.
As a Principal Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to advance our customer's mission through the use of AWS services (e.g. Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, HPC, Amazon Bedrock etc.) directly with our ecosystem of systems integrators, consulting and technology partners. You will accomplish this as part of a cross-functional team working together in support of the federal missions, with strong sense of building art of possible proof of concepts (PoCs) to solve customer's problems.
The Solutions Architects on our team provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the Federal Government markets while working with a sales and business development team. They lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community. You get to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture!
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- Familiarity with defense compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG, ITAR)
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
