POSITION: Principal Project Engineer

What You Will Do:

The Senior Manager, Program Management will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance necessary to plan and implement new customer and enterprise focused projects into the business unit operations. As an integral part of the Project Management Office, the duties and deliverables of the Sr. Project Manager will include: Agenda Development, Meeting Minutes, Business Case development, Integration with suppliers and customers, Lead both Internal and Customer Working Sessions, Risk Mitigation Strategy, Workflow Design Documentation (Process Maps), Project Plan Development, Timeline Adherence, Change Management Support, Executive Project Status Reporting, Provide insights on project design components, Facilitate decision-making amongst stakeholders.
• Leadership: Provides oversight to project teams to ensure tasks are met timely, scope is well defined and adhered to, proper approvals are obtained, and any risks or barriers to project progression are escalated and mitigated. Acts as intermediary between business and technical teams for identification and interpretation of critical requirements related to project delivery. Manages conflict resolution to ensure successful project completion and ownership of the outcomes.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Must have the ability to present clearly to both internal and external customers and executive sponsors the project status, risks, impacts and needs on weekly or monthly basis
• Project Deliverables: Create and maintain detailed project plans and timelines, project status reports, meeting minutes, action and decision logs and various other standard project artifacts
• Project Management: Responsible for coordination of all project stakeholder groups and workstreams through the project lifecycle for successful delivery of assigned business and technology projects on-time and on budget with minimal defects as measured by project metrics established at project inception
• Financial Management: Monitors project budget and sizing against plan on weekly basis and mitigate if established thresholds are not met

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Own and drive successful large-scale project execution with the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
• Lead project teams to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
• Provide end-to-end project management for complex projects and/or programs which include scope definition, analysis, design, planning, execution, implementation and delivering quality to ensure project requirements have been met and to ensure conformance to standards and methodology
• Ensure organizational needs for the execution and implementation of solutions are documented and apply experiences with past lessons learned to develop better processes for future use
• Track project progress, monitor and modify project schedules and provide status updates to internal and external customers
• Coach and mentor other project managers
• Provide insight and knowledge into improving processes related to projects
• Utilize project management software to facilitate the planning, organization and tracking of project activities across all departments
• Manages assigned projects using program management methodologies and techniques in accordance with established standards
• Interacts with customers and internal functional support teams to ensure results are achieved
• Develops implementation strategy to meet customer expectations
• Monitors post implementation customer expectations and standards
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Communicate and collaborate globally to all regions and across multiple levels of senior leadership on scope, timing, process, and implementation of assigned projects
• Assumes responsibility for managing multiple projects with varying schedules, scope, and life cycles in a fast-paced environment to ensure effective solutions
• Works with customer management to determine the client's requirements, needs and plans
• Attends all relevant project status meetings and compiles appropriate reports on assigned activities as requested
• Provides direction and coordinates the implementation of strategies and actions for customer deliverables

What You Will Bring:
• 15+ years of experience in a project planning role
• PMP certification highly preferred
• Experience managing diverse cross functional teams in a matrix environment
• Previous experience in presenting project plans, timelines, and requirements to clients and leadership
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization
• Advanced skills with Microsoft project and MS Visio
• Excellent in person and remote facilitation ability
• Executive presence, strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to build strong customer relationship
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

Pay Range: $80,000 to $110,000

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

Work Requirements:

We offer flexible work options, including hybrid arrangements, to support the need of the role and align with company policies. This position is located in Indianapolis, IN and is considered hybrid with 2days required on-site.
  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.


Travel Requirements: No travel is required.

Citizenship requirement: Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
