Full Job Description

GFT is seeking a highly experienced Principal Program Manager, Transit & Rail to lead major transit and rail programs across North America, including High-Speed Rail, Commuter Rail, Light Rail, Streetcar, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), Transit Facilities, Electrical Systems, and Transit Systems Engineering programs.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

Program Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead large, complex transit and rail programs from planning through design, construction, and closeout.
  • Provide executive oversight of multidisciplinary engineering teams including civil, structural, electrical, communications, signaling, systems integration, and operations specialists.
  • Lead integration of electrical and systems engineering disciplines throughout project development, testing, commissioning, and startup.
Portfolio Management
  • Provide oversight of a portfolio of transit and rail projects across multiple regions and clients.
  • Monitor revenue, profitability, schedule performance, budget performance, resource utilization, risk exposure, and client satisfaction.
  • Support project controls, forecasting, staffing plans, and resource management strategies.
Technical Leadership & Systems Integration
  • Provide strategic leadership for electrical engineering and transit systems engineering activities.
  • Support technical decision-making involving traction power, communications, train control, signaling, PTC, SCADA, fare collection, TSP, and ITS systems.
  • Guide Systems Engineering Management Plans, requirements management, interface management, verification, and validation activities.
What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Planning, Business, Construction Management, Transportation, Public Administration, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience managing major transportation, transit, rail, or infrastructure programs.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers and systems engineers.
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $250,000 - $290,000.
