Job Description

The Site Design Planner develops accurate, integrated, and actionable site designs for new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data center builds and expansions. This role translates business demand, customer requirements, and infrastructure capacity needs into an executable site and data-hall plan.

A successful team member brings together compute, power, network, connectivity, and physical-layout inputs to create a single source of truth for each site. They use sound judgment to balance customer priorities, infrastructure constraints, deployment sequencing, and available capacity, while driving alignment across planning, engineering, design, delivery, sourcing, and operations teams.

Reporting to the Director of DC Site Design & Planning, this role will:
  • Convert business demand, customer requirements, and capacity plans into integrated site designs for greenfield data centers and site expansions.
  • Own the site-design process from initial demand intake through an approved, actionable handoff to Data Center Design and Delivery teams.
  • Develop data-hall layouts and rack, compute, power, and infrastructure allocation plans that meet customer needs, deployment timelines, and site constraints.
  • Integrate network capacity, physical connectivity, and infrastructure requirements from partner organizations into a cohesive site plan.
  • Partner with Networking, Connectivity, Compute, Capacity Planning, DC Engineering, DC Design, Delivery, and Sourcing teams to resolve dependencies, constraints, and design tradeoffs.
  • Support complex deployments, including AI networking, high-density GPU infrastructure, and multi-plane fabric designs, ensuring site plans account for associated power, cooling, network, and connectivity requirements.
  • Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive site-design documentation that serves as the approved source of truth for each new build or expansion.
  • Drive timely design reviews, stakeholder alignment, and leadership approvals; clearly communicate risks, decisions, assumptions, and required actions.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and automate site-design inputs, workflows, and outputs; partner with development and tooling teams to improve scale, accuracy, and cycle time.
  • Use data and judgment to recommend allocation, sequencing, and design decisions that balance customer commitments, business priorities, and infrastructure availability.

Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience in cloud or hyperscale infrastructure, data center planning, capacity planning, cloud networking, connectivity, data center design, or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business or customer demand into executable infrastructure, capacity, network, or physical site plans.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure dependencies, including compute, racks, power, cooling, network capacity, physical connectivity, and deployment sequencing.
  • Experience supporting large-scale or high-density infrastructure deployments; AI/ML, GPU, InfiniBand, or advanced network-fabric experience is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical decisions, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to make sound decisions amid shifting priorities, incomplete information, and tight timelines.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships across Sourcing, DC Engineering, DC Design, Delivery, Networking, Connectivity, Capacity Planning, and Development organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, operations, supply chain, or a related field-or equivalent practical experience.


Identifies, prioritizes, and successfully executes a broad portfolio of functional initiatives and programs. Plans and directs schedules for multiple programs running simultaneously. Partners closely with global cross-functional teams to understand and capture requirements for programs. Navigates complex dependencies between cross-functional teams and organizational priorities to optimize the critical path and addresses & mitigates risks. Effectively influences internal and external teams to prioritize; Drives mitigation plans and ensures ownership for each item and regular follow up through to program closure while ensuring resolution of risk and issues, escalating, as necessary. Provides rigorous management and analysis of overall portfolio budget (including spend and forecasted spend vs. budget, spend per program and historical trends, etc.). Establishes scalable frameworks (process, tools, etc.) for the end-to-end project and manages stakeholders applying project management standards and documentation best practices. Runs standups and sprint planning exercises for programs owned. Builds and maintains consistent reporting across numerous programs. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $90,100 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
