Principal Product Manager for Intelligent Planning – Hybrid, Cary, North Carolina  or remote in NC

 

About the job   

The Product Management team at SAS is looking for a Technical Principal Product Manager to support the SAS Intelligent Planning software offering. You will be part of a team that defines the vision and roadmap for a portfolio of offerings that bring advanced supply chain analytics and performance management to large global manufacturing, industrial, and consumer goods organizations.

 

Capabilities within SAS Intelligent Planning for demand planning and supply chain analytics help companies automate and accelerate demand planning insights across their supply chain by detecting forward-looking consumer demand signals and providing recommendations for balanced, profitable plans across all channels, categories, and customers.

 

As a Principal Product Manager, you will:

  • Set and execute the technical product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with platform scalability, performance, and architectural constraints.
  • Define and prioritize technical product requirements based on customer, prospect, and evaluator inputs, as well as technical feasibility, performance implications, and system constraints.
  • Collaborate with and drive product development in R&D based on requirements management and product lifecycle, with a focus on system behavior, performance, and scalability outcomes.
  • Manage the product across its lifecycle, ensuring technical integrity, scalability, and maintainability of delivered capabilities.
  • Define technical design patterns for planning implementations in areas such as dimensional modeling, aggregation strategies, and planning area architecture.
  • Partner with customer-facing teams to validate technical feasibility and performance implications of customer commitments.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Required qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related discipline.
  • Twelve years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Consulting or related function in the technology industry, preferably including product management.
  • Familiarity with lifecycle of developing and deploying applications for at least one major public cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience working with distributed computation frameworks, in-memory analytics platforms, or large-scale planning systems.
  • Experience defining performance SLAs, scalability benchmarks, and system constraints for enterprise applications.
  • Experience with supply chain planning platforms, scenario modeling, or optimization-based systems.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
