The Skylark product line is focused on the rapid design, build, and test of cutting-edge active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications. Current programs span high-power, large-scale ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.

We are looking to add a Principal Product Manager to help manage our space communications products across their entire lifecycle, from initial definition through customer deployment and operation.

In this position, you will operate at the intersection of engineering, business development, sales, and marketing, ensuring the product is consistently and accurately understood across all functions and customer interactions. You participate in product definition alongside the concept design team, define how capabilities are articulated to different audiences, and serve as the authority on how the product is described and positioned.

You own technical product documentation that defines what the product is, what it does, and how customers use it. This includes datasheets, ICDs, user guides, technical specifications, and integration documentation across the full customer lifecycle: evaluation, procurement, integration, and operation. You work closely with the marketing team on outbound marketing materials, ensuring technical accuracy and consistency. You ensure that everyone, from internal engineering and sales teams to external customers, has a shared, accurate understanding of the product as it evolves.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Convert product definitions into clear, accurate descriptions of capabilities, configurations, and performance
  • Ensure all materials describe the product consistently across datasheets, documentation, proposals, and customer discussions
  • Act as the source of truth for how the product is described externally
  • Own all outbound documentation across the full customer lifecycle: evaluation, selection, integration, and operation
  • Create and maintain datasheets, user guides, ICDs, integration documentation, and technical specifications
  • Ensure customers have the right information at each stage of their journey with the product
  • Identify gaps in documentation based on customer questions and address them
  • Track product changes and ensure all documentation and collateral reflect the current state of the product
  • Communicate updates to internal teams and customers when product capabilities or configurations change
  • Help customers understand how to use the product through clear documentation and guidance
  • Support onboarding and early use by ensuring instructions and interfaces are well explained
  • Reduce confusion and support burden by improving clarity of materials
  • Participate in product roadmap discussions with engineering and business development teams
  • Contribute technical documentation insights to inform product strategy and feature prioritization
  • Support market analysis activities by documenting customer needs and feedback patterns
  • Grow into strategic product management through exposure to roadmap planning and competitive analysis
  • Participate in product development activities with concept design and engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy
  • Work closely with marketing on outbound materials, ensuring technical accuracy and consistency
  • Enable business development and sales with clear, consistent product materials
  • Bridge engineering, BD, sales, and marketing to ensure all teams describe the product consistently
  • Translate technical capabilities into customer-facing value propositions and documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • 15+ years of experience in a technical role including 2+ years of experience in technical documentation, systems engineering, product management, or similar technical roles in aerospace, communications, or related industries
  • Deep technical understanding of RF communications systems, satellite communications, or space systems architecture
  • Strong experience creating technical documentation or customer-facing materials
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex systems clearly to diverse audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, business development, and marketing teams
