Job DescriptionThis is a hybrid position and you must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs. The primary assignment for this position is strategic pricing for the Medical Center's hospital and physician practice services, along with responsibility for the hospital's Price Transparency Machine-Readable File. The role requires both strategic judgment and hands-on technical execution, including pricing analysis, financial modeling, data integration, business-rule development, file creation, reconciliation, quality assurance, documentation, issue resolution, and cross-functional coordination.
Optimizing payer and revenue strategies, including taking on financial healthcare risk allows healthcare providers greater flexibility in the development of care offerings, delivery vehicles, and performance under value-based care models and incentives. A number of current Mayo Clinic strategic priorities require a capability system focused on clearly and accurately assessing this financial risk in order to deliver upon expected performance. As an RSI Principal Analyst, you will be empowered to conceive and support short and long term strategic/operational business activities; use quantitative analytics to design, develop and/or enhance reports and models that will have an impact on enterprise revenue strategies and business decisions. Primary Responsibilities: Analyze complex opportunities associated with innovative pricing, reimbursement and revenue model strategy and execution to support Mayo's business objectives. Define, develop, and enhance healthcare economics analytics relative to opportunities and/or challenges to support revenue optimization and value-based care initiatives (e.g. ACO, BPCI, population health, episode of care). Collaborate with cross-disciplinary workgroups including clinicians and operations professionals to develop analytics needed for success in a transparent and value-based care environment. Design, automate, and maintain advanced analytics algorithms on payer analytics, provider performance, payment innovation, episode-based care, coding complexity and risk contracting. Participate in various workgroups innovating and validating new data-driven performance measures and goals. Present findings and lead team discussions. Translate business questions or product requirements into actionable work. Provide recommendations and guidance to project leads based on actionable data insights. Help mentor, train and guide junior analysts. Validate their deliverables and give feedback. Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Match/Statistics, Finance/Business or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 6+ years relevant work experience in a healthcare or managed care environment working complex strategies with large data sets.
Healthcare industry experience, which could include consulting, insurance, payers (government or commercial), hospital systems. Advanced data skills and capability in driving solutions from data and effectively presenting data and solutions. Advanced proficiency (3+ years of experience) in data query and reporting tools and Microsoft Excel. Analytical, articulate, inquisitive, and insightful. Passionate for problem solving using data and analytics. Communicate effectively and clearly to a range of audiences, from domain experts to business professionals.
