Displays and excels in standard engineering principles to develop creative solutions to challenging issues associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for Baxter’s Advanced Surgery business.
What you will be doing:
- Achieves desired technical outcomes through the direct completion of Design Control, CAPA, CC project deliverables or programs within the boundaries of timing and budget.
- Responsible for technical oversight of a constantly changing portfolio that impact R&D, Operations, Quality Systems (QS), Process, Customer or Supply Chain.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet schedule & project demands
- Based on technical expertise, reviews and approves design changes and provides technical product direction for the project team.
- Fosters an environment of rigor, completeness and compliance when participating on CAPA, CC or FCA investigations/assessments.
- Embraces accountability for critical decisions as a technical subject matter expert within a cross-functional team to drive product development deliverables, such as formulation development, process development, or tech transfers.
- Demonstrates understanding of and adherence to FDA, ISO, and IEC design control procedures and standards.
- Creates design concepts and research methodologies that best meet current and future customer & business needs for a product or process domain area.
- Uses critical thinking and teamwork to contribute to the resolution of competing constraints.
- Create and maintain technical documents found in a DHF, such as verification/validation reports, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Develop and execute study plans and reports.
What you will bring:- B.S. in engineering discipline (preferably Biomedical /Mechanical Engineering) M.S or Ph.D. preferred, with at least 5+ years proven success in product development environment
- Experience in creating/managing design documentation and transfer of products into manufacturing.
- Proficient in 3D CAD Software
- Experience in prototyping, testing, and evaluating mechanical designs
- Skilled at written and verbal presentations within the business/technical community.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to technical projects through successful outcomes.
- Must be self-motivated, resourceful, flexible. A self-starter is imperative.
- Preferred experience with TQM, statistical methods, problem analysis and resolution, materials science, and design of experiments.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 to $154,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
