Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to be part of their product development teams.

What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering builds
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, the ability to thrive in small, empowered teams, and an intense desire to directly enable our customers' success
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specifications
- Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with multiple engineering disciplines to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline
- Ability to get and maintain TS and Special Access Programs (SAP) to meet program's clearance requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++
- Experience with Scripting languages like Python.
- Experience with System and Software blended skills including::
- a) Optimization and Analysis
- b) System of Systems Resource Management
- c) Modeling and Simulation - kill chain analysis
- d) Tracking Software Integration, output analysis, and algorithm development

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Bench support, familiarity with platform engineering tools
- Clearly communicate plans, status, and issues to teammates and program leadership
- Ensure the successful integration of software components into delivered products
- Experience in Object Oriented and scripting languages
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
- Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
- Experience working in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with developing, testing, and integrating software using C / C++ or modern software development language
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Software development lifecycle experience
- Excellent communications skills and team collaboration skills
- Self-motivated

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
