I. Job Summary

As a Principal eCommerce Developer, you are responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging new CommerceTools enterprise commerce platform and producing significant enhancements to existing software. You will conduct complex business process analysis, needs assessments, and participates in design sessions with architects and other engineers to align digital solutions with business initiatives. Day-to-day you will work in an Agile environment with Back-End Developers, Front-End Developers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Business Analysts to translate business needs into digital solutions. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of coming to our beautiful corporate headquarters 4 days per week (this may subject to change).

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new software and by modifying/enhancing existing software applications.
  • Lead design/coding sessions, develops solutions, and implements solutions as part of a team. Performs complex analyses of system requirements and of existing business processes and information systems.
  • Articulate design and resolves technical/design conflicts as they occur.
  • Coordinate with business analysts and users to determine requirements.
  • Review systems under development and related documentation.
  • Contribute to advanced systems planning, scheduling and implementation.
  • Mentor and foster growth of peers and team members.
  • Lead eCommerce implementations, utilizing CommerceTools enterprise commerce platform, providing both oversight and hands-on contributions to the software design, development, and integration.
  • Design and develop the headless solution for eCommerce and work with technical teams for implementation of APIs
  • Process flow and data flow for new implementations in eCommerce
  • Coordination with integration team and React team for dependencies or new APIs and structures.
  • Independently lead the estimation effort for a project
  • Participate in the development of conceptual and logical architectures.
  • Resolve integration and interfacing issues between various back end systems.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Assist Project Leadership conduct project risk identification and mitigation planning.


III. Qualifications

A. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years of previous experience required (in addition to education requirement).


B. Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) Years of Experience in eCommerce Applications design and development.
  • Three (3) years of experience in architecting ecommerce applications with CommerceTools enterprise commerce platform.


C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Advanced knowledge or skills in one or more of the following is required:
  • Knowledge of project management/change management in regard to acquisition/development life cycles.
  • Systems development, implementation, upgrades, and analyses.
  • QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, system design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of enterprise coding standards.
  • Hands on experience in writing more complex code.
  • Ability to perform code reviews.
  • Knowledge of software methodologies.
  • Ability to learn new and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to lead a group to consensus, solve problems, and accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to mentor and train less knowledgeable peers and individuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • General business knowledge and concepts.
