Principal Civil EngineerPleasanton, CA | Full-TimeSalary: $160,000-$225,000 DOE + Annual Bonus + Potential Ownership OpportunityWhat You'll DoAs a Principal Engineer, you'll serve as both a technical leader and trusted advisor to clients while helping grow our Bay Area presence.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of public infrastructure and land development projects from concept through construction
- Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for roadway, grading, drainage, water, wastewater, and utility improvement projects
- Serve as Engineer of Record on major infrastructure projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, public agencies, developers, and private clients
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project performance
- Lead proposal development, interviews, contract negotiations, and business development efforts
- Mentor engineers, project managers, and designers while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture
- Work alongside firm leadership to identify strategic growth opportunities and expand R.E.Y.'s presence throughout the Bay Area
What We're Looking ForRequired- California Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong background in Public Works, municipal infrastructure, utilities, or land development projects
- Demonstrated success managing client relationships and delivering complex engineering projects
Preferred- Established relationships with Bay Area municipalities, agencies, and private clients
- Strong business development and proposal leadership experience
- Experience mentoring engineers and developing future project managers
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and industry-standard hydraulic or stormwater modeling software
- Passion for growing teams, building client partnerships, and contributing to firm leadership
