Full Job Description
As a Principal Business Systems Analyst within OH Care Delivery Technology's VBC Interoperability team, you will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, internal development teams, and external EHR vendors (such as Epic). Our team is focused on VBC EHR Integrations, IPA solutions, and Epic Integrations by designing and delivering seamless EHR integration solutions, intelligent automations, and workflow enhancements. In this telecommute role, you will lead complex systems analysis, evaluate emerging technological and AI trends, and design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex clinical and operational business challenges.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders, Epic and 3rd-party vendor representatives, internal EHR personnel, and development teams to position all parties for success
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and automations to address complex business and clinical workflow challenges with an emphasis on the responsible use of AI
  • Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement across system analysis processes
  • Evaluate emerging trends in artificial intelligence, technology, and external vendor capabilities to inform solution design and strategic innovation
  • Foster innovation and coordinate with Epic, internal teams, and clients to integrate new functionality, workflow enhancements, and upgrades within reasonable timelines
  • Design and execute EHR development tasks, environment strategy, objectives, and roadmap alignment in support of integration and development team goals with minimal disruption to care delivery operations
  • Liaise between and cross-collaborate among internal Epic teams to understand end-to-end native Epic clinical workflows and weigh against proposed workflows involving newly integrated applications
  • Collaborate with internal development teams to evaluate strengths and weaknesses, identify and recommend enhancements, and adhere to the product/implementation lifecycle of EHR integration development
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to create, interpret, and apply organizational processes and recommend improvements between EHR vendors and internal development teams
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to communicate information effectively to customers, business users, and technical staff
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Current/Future State Process Flow and Data Flow diagrams, and Product Roadmap illustrations
  • Develop measurements and reporting capabilities to detect internal problems before they result in user-visible outages or data quality issues

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare environment working directly with business stakeholders and technical development teams
  • 4+ years of Epic Analyst experience with Epic certification and exposure to one or more Epic modules (e.g., Ambulatory/Clindoc, Orders, Bridges, Client Systems Administration, Interconnect, Vendor Services/Showroom, or MyChart)
  • Hands-on experience with data/application integration methods and interfaces (e.g., HL7, CDS Hooks, FHIR APIs, or Custom Web Services)
  • Experience utilizing or implementing enterprise AI tools, automated workflow solutions, or intelligent systems to streamline business processes
  • Proven experience with clinical workflows, healthcare business processes, Change Advisory Board (CAB), and governance approvals
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of APIs and FHIR resource types
  • Demonstrated exposure to API testing platforms and troubleshooting methods (e.g., Insomnia, Postman, interface message monitoring, RDC trace logs, or browser developer console)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of healthcare business experience, including Provider Network Management, Hospital EMR/Billing systems, Revenue Cycle Management, Physician Practice Management, CMS guidelines/mandates, Payer-Provider relationships, HEDIS, or Member/Patient Risk Management
  • Experience with AI model integration, enterprise automation frameworks, or intelligent workflow design in healthcare systems
  • Experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, including internal development teams, senior leaders, and external third-party vendor teams
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and systems implementation
  • Proven ability to translate strategic initiatives into actions through a thoughtful, organized, and well-planned approach
  • Proven solid communication skills with a proven track record of initiating conversations with both business and technology leaders
  • Proven ability to effectively work in a matrixed organization, aligning and developing strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Proven adaptable self-starter with the initiative to learn and develop new technical skill sets
  • Proven highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to prioritize workload and manage several projects concurrently
  • Proven excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
