As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Global Technology Enterprise Architecture, you provide specialized expertise to influence the target state architecture and strategy. Work across teams to implement and advance the adoption of complex strategic global solutions that give JPMorgan Chase a competitive advantage.

Job responsibilities

  • Advises and leads on architecture strategy of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio
  • Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm’s innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about target state architecture
  • Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Establishes and leads an architecture governance body
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
  • Partner across domains to reduce tooling duplication, clarify ownership, and maintain authoritative technology status and lifecycle governance
  • Improve decision traceability, cost-performance outcomes, and review-board effectiveness through clear standards, metrics, and architectural guardrails
  • Evaluate emerging capabilities for enterprise fit and adoption readiness.
  • Leads reuse-first adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture analysis, option evaluation, and delivery of strategic global solutions, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
  • Establishes portfolio-level guardrails for AI-assisted and agentic workflows used in architecture and engineering governance, including traceability/auditability and control expectations aligned to resiliency and security standards.

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Obtain 7 plus years of applied experience and formal training or certification on Architecture concepts 
  • Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expertise in one or more architecture disciplines
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across functions and teams to deliver modern architecture
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems across various technical disciplines
  • Extensive practical cloud native experience
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best technology solutions and approaches to achieve the future state architecture
  • Deep expertise across Infrastructure Architecture areas, including IT Service Management, Monitoring and Observability, Cloud Compute and Storage, Application Integration, and IT Asset Management, Network and Systems Administration. 
  • Strong understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud operational models, including resilience, identity, secrets, networking, and secure operations.
  • Advanced certifications in cloud, enterprise architecture, ITSM, SRE, or security disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading safe adoption of enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment across architecture workflows, including validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.

  • Deep expertise across Infrastructure Architecture areas, including IT Service Management, Monitoring and Observability, Cloud Compute and Storage, Application Integration, and IT Asset Management, Network and Systems Administration. 
  • Strong understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud operational models, including resilience, identity, secrets, networking, and secure operations.
  • Advanced certifications in cloud, enterprise architecture, ITSM, SRE, or security disciplines.
  • Expertise in operational automation, event intelligence, and self-healing workflows integrated with ticketing and incident processes.
  • Experience with enterprise CMDB and asset intelligence programs that improve control compliance and cost transparency.
  • Familiarity with financial-services regulatory and control frameworks for operational resilience and auditability.
