Job Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Procurement, the Principal Analyst: Strategic Sourcing Analytics & Advancement will transform Procurement's spend analytics, technology, and reporting capabilities to drive stronger category-level decisions, enterprise value creation, and global spend visibility. This role will lead implementation of a new spend analytics platform and AI-enabled competitive bid sourcing tool, own Procurement savings reporting and Finance alignment, and deliver inflation, market, and supplier insights that inform sourcing strategy and executive decision making.

  • Starting Wage: $100,000 - $135,000 + Annual Bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead selection, implementation, and optimization of a new spend analytics platform that enables advanced global category-level spend visibility, reporting and actionable insights.
  • Develop spend data models, dashboards, and reporting that proactively identify spend trends, supplier and category opportunities, savings potential, and risk indicators for Strategic Sourcing category leads.
  • Serve as an analytics thought partner to Strategic Sourcing leadership, translating complex data into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Lead Procurement technology advancement, including implementation and adoption of an AI-enabled competitive bid sourcing tool, and other solutions that improve efficiency, compliance and value capture.
  • Own Procurement savings reporting and governance, partnering with Finance to ensure savings are accurately tracked, validated, and reflected in budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide inflation, market and supplier insights; establish data quality standards; and drive cross-functional project plans, change management and adoption for analytics and technology initiatives.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Data Science, STEM or related field; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in analytics, strategic sourcing, procurement, finance or supply chain, with demonstrated success developing insights, reporting, cost models and executive-level analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in spend analytics, data visualization, dashboard development and analytical storytelling, with ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience selecting, implementing or optimizing analytics, sourcing, procurement or finance technology platforms preferred.
  • Strong project management and partnership skills, including ability to manage cross-functional plans, timelines,stakeholders, risks, change management and adoption.
  • Financial acumen with understanding of savings tracking, budgeting, forecasting, inflation analysis, supplier economics and enterprise value creation.
  • Excellent communication, influence and executive presentation skills, with ability to develop the "story" and drive alignment through data-driven insights.
  • High initiative, curiosity, integrity, attention to detail and ability to balance analytical depth with the enterprise "big picture."
  • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Coupa, PeopleSoft, spend analytics platforms,eSourcing tools or AI-enabled procurement technology is a plus.


The expected Total Compensation for this role is $100,000 - $135,000 + Annual Bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a 'Hybrid' work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
