What you'll be doing…
As a Principal Engineer - Tech Process Management , you will be serving as the core technical delivery engine for Automotive connectivity and solutions program, the organization oversees end-to-end design, build, validation, release, and Tier 2/3 application operational support. This role will bridge the gap between advanced technical execution and operational excellence. Leveraging a technical background, this candidate will design and deploy intelligent automation workflows to optimize operational pipelines, re-engineer manual processes, and architect systemic solutions to eliminate technical bottlenecks.
You will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Acting as a primary AI architect to aggressively reduce time-to-production through advanced process automation. Ideally, this candidate will have strong familiarity with Verizon systems and the technical expertise to navigate complex integrations.
- Maintaining rigorous delivery and financial oversight in IoT platform, Automotive and IoT solutions
- Driving end-to-end delivery on an aggressive schedule with tremendous visibility and high business impact.
- Leading AI-driven automated workflows and process automation across Automotive feature delivery for Tesla, GM, VW, Waymo and other key automotive OEMs
- Ensuring delivery schedules are optimized, cost-effective, and technically robust.
- Being responsible for delivery velocity, preventing pipeline bottlenecks, and ensuring seamless execution across Automotive infrastructure, IoT platforms, and enterprise solutions.
- Leading the design and deployment of AI-driven automated workflows to optimize operational pipelines, eliminate technical bottlenecks, and reduce time-to-production.
- Utilizing deep expertise in Verizon systems, APIs, and SDLC to architect end-to-end automated deployment cycles, perform hands-on technical root-cause analysis, and build systems that minimize manual intervention and technical friction.
- Ensuring alignment with Agile development constructs, and adhere to deliver on program roadmaps,
- Partnering across ThingSpace platform teams, network planning, TPD PMs, and GTS to ensure alignment on dependencies and lean practices.
- Overseeing financial discipline across Solutions, Automotive and platform teams
- Tracking, synthesizing, and socializing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Manage resource allocation (FTE and SOW) to maximize operational efficiency.
- Managing assumptions proactively across programs and business units, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business cases.
What we're looking for...
As a key member of Verizon27s Technology Product Development (TPD) division, the Automotive delivery team delivers comprehensive end-to-end architecture and engineering for connected vehicles and enterprise-connected solutions and features like wifi hotspot, application based data usage, vehicle to vehicle communication, and intelligent route mapping with congestion prediction and slicing.
You27ll need to have:
- Bachelor27s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Experience in Agile software delivery.
- Experience with AI-driven process innovation (e.g., identifying systemic bottlenecks and implementing intelligent automated solutions).
- Experience managing program budgets and resource planning.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience in troubleshooting and RCA with product and network related issues
- Familiarity with AI-based SAFe, Agile Framework.
- Familiarity with Verizon systems, APIs, SDLC, and AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude and similar).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to convey the ideas in a compelling and persuasive manner.

In this hybrid role, you27ll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $120,500.00 - $231,000.00.
