We are seeking an experienced Network Systems Performance Engineer to lead data-driven network transformation initiatives, and automate core reporting infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge the gap between network operations, network telemetry, and data engineering, leveraging performance monitoring platforms like SevOne and log analytics tools like Splunk to build robust ETL pipelines, optimize alerting frameworks, and provide expert technical counsel to executive leadership and operation teams.

• Network Transformation & Analysis: Spearheading data-driven optimization projects that directly reduce operational expenses and decrease network outage frequency.

• Automation & Data Engineering: Designing and deploying automated reporting tools, alerting systems, and scalable ETL pipelines to ingest big data from message buses into centralized reporting platforms using Python, SQL, and APIs.

• Network Performance & Telemetry: Administering and optimizing network performance platforms (specifically SevOne) to collect, decode, and analyze metrics via SNMP and custom polling.

• Log Analytics & Dashboarding: Building operational dashboards and leveraging log data to establish proactive alerting frameworks and streamline troubleshooting workflows.

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Leading the Reporting & Analytics function, serving as a technical mentor to team members on data analysis best practices, toolsets, and system design.

• Data Integrity & Compliance: Managing the end-to-end portfolio of reporting systems, maintaining audit tools to ensure 100% data accuracy and inventory compliance for network planning.

• Technical Consultation & Support: Acting as a subject matter expert for leadership and operation teams, providing action-oriented guidance and troubleshooting complex network outages.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

• Strong proficiency in SNMP, MIBs, and OIDs for polling, collecting, and decoding device metrics across multi-vendor platforms.

• Advanced skill in Python, SQL, REST APIs, relational databases, and big data architecture (including message-bus streaming/ingestion).

• Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining production ETL pipelines and automated alerting applications.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Hands-on expertise with SevOne, Zabbix, Netcool for network performance monitoring, baseline metric tracking, and alert configuration.
