What you’ll be doing...As a Principal Engineer for Network Assurance, you will be responsible for supporting the CGC RAN Network Operation Team with data analysis of network monitoring tools, with an emphasis on automation, troubleshooting, triage, and network notifications. The position requires a level of expertise that allows for fast and accurate investigation of wireless network tool issues and implementation of interim and permanent solutions. Project management and coordination between system tool owners, support teams, and regional end user groups to perform root cause analysis, process creation, develop standards, automation, and data clean-up initiatives.
Collaborating with developers, engineers, and managers to understand and define requirements and prioritize the requests from end users that can potentially impact the business.
Reporting on the status of the network and ensuring its continued performance while identifying areas of opportunity for improvement.
Monitoring and maintenance of the Network systems to ensure system availability and functionality.
Identifying key areas of improvement and ideation around these areas on how to improve the performance, monitoring, reaction, and resolution.
Leading multiple team collaboration meetings and discussions revolving around the needs of automation and to determine how best to address concerns that arise in the network, ranging from repairing equipment, creating new processes, or processing changes to the network.
Interfacing with Engineering and Application teams to drive the implementation of emerging technologies and ensure critical deliverables are met on time.
Providing mentoring to other team members on networking, application design, engineering, and automation while acting as the final escalation point to support production service issues in concert with application, operational, and triage teams.
Making independent decisions with a significant impact to the business; exercises judgment in developing new work methods with accountability for project or program results; delegates work to lower-banded team members.

Youll need to have:
Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Four or more years of relevant experience in one or more of the following fields: wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, IP networks.
Have worked on RAN architecture and the supporting vendors' equipment -Nokia and Samsung. Provisioning and management of these elements is a must.
Expertise in Samsung and Nokia scripting.
In-depth knowledge of functions and data flow within primary NA tools and dependent modules - IOP, OC, and Opstracker
Working knowledge and abilities in CQ, Atoll, Airwave, and xLPT.
PIM testing, Interference hunting, Sweep testing, and Fiber testing (scoping, insertion loss, and OTDR) experience.
In-depth knowledge of network elements involved in LTE, 5G NR, and 5G SA voice, EVDO networks and their functionality.
Experience in transport and core network design, RAN design, network performance KPIs, and parameters impacting RAN performance.
Strong communication, presentation, technical, analytical, and negotiation skills are required.
Must be able to manage multiple project priorities with a sustained commitment to succeed.
