Description

We are seeking a Pre-Operative/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at a busy multi-specialty outpatient surgery center in NYC! This is a Full-Time opportunity, and we are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience working in Pre-Op/PACU. This opportunity offers a break from the rough schedule and hustle of hospital settings without after-hours call. This is perfect for someone looking for a more personalized care experience and exposure to new specialties. Schedule will be Monday-Friday with 4-10 hour shifts or 3-12 hour shifts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prepare patients for surgery, including reviewing medical history, obtaining vital signs, and explaining surgical procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning, IV insertions, and pre-op medication administration as per protocol.
  • Monitor patients closely immediately after surgery in the PACU to ensure safe emergence from anesthesia.
  • Manage pain, airway, and vital signs, and recognize early signs of complications.
  • Assess changes in patient status and notify physicians where applicable
  • Monitor patients in the OR undergoing local anesthesia
  • Provide patient and family with education and documentation regarding post-operative care, recovery and discharge instructions.
  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment compliant with facility policies and safety standards.


Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
  • Current New York Registered Nurse license, required
  • Current New York Infection Control Certificate, required
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification, required
  • Experience in perioperative nursing or critical care, highly desirable.
  • 2 years of PACU or ICU experience, preferred
  • Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.


Salary Description

$52-$60/hr dependent on experience
