Purpose

The Practice Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Surgical Oncology practice, including staff supervision, operational management, regulatory compliance, financial oversight, and patient access initiatives. This role partners closely with physicians and organizational leadership to ensure efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily operations of the physician practice, ensuring efficient workflows and exceptional patient service.
  • Supervise, coach, and support staff, including scheduling, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Manage patient scheduling processes, template optimization, and access initiatives to support timely patient care.
  • Monitor practice performance metrics and implement strategies to achieve operational and patient experience goals.
  • Oversee financial and patient management systems to ensure accurate and efficient practice operations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, patient confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulatory standards, including OSHA, CLIA, and Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and integration of new physicians into the practice.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and meet financial objectives.
  • Maintain office facilities, equipment, and supplies to support providers, staff, and patient care activities.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
  • Communicate regularly with physicians and leadership regarding practice performance, operational needs, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote and maintain a patient-centered culture focused on exceptional service and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of management experience, including 1 year of healthcare experience; OR
  • Associate's degree and 3 years of healthcare experience plus 3 years of management experience; OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of healthcare experience plus 5 years of management experience.

Licensure,Certifications,andClearances:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Practice Manager experience or related healthcare leadership experience.
  • Experience leading operations in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, ambulatory setting, or hospital.
  • Strong background in staff leadership, scheduling, patient access, and operational performance.
  • Experience partnering with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Epic experience a plus.
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field a plus.
