Job Description- Our group is seeking highly motivated power systems and power electronics engineers who are interested in solving challenging technical problems. Typical activities include energy systems modeling, data analysis, algorithm development, hardware prototyping, and supporting demonstration, testing and evaluation activities. We seek a candidate who will be flexible and proactive in developing/ implementing leading-edge techniques for processing and analysis of varied data sets, and working to develop new concepts, designs, and systems as program needs dictate. Strong oral and written communication skills are required as the candidate will work with an experienced and interdisciplinary team. RequiredM.S or B.S./B.A. with 3 years of direct experience, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field with a strong background in physical sciences
- Experience in power systems and/or power electronicsExperience with one or more power modeling tools, such as OpenDSS, SKM, ETAP, PSCAD, Typhoon-HIL EasyPower, Spice circuit modeling, or their equivalent
- Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python, MATLAB/ Simulink
- Hands-on lab experience with hardware: high power measurement and data collection, circuit design, PCB layout/rework, soldering, utilizing test equipment in a lab to test and debug (electronic loads, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators)
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- A minimum GPA of 3.5
Desired Skills:
- Expereience in power circuit modeling, power converter design and controls, battery selection, system integration, and testing, real-time simulations with inverter-based resources (BESS, PV) within microgrids
Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 - $140,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200
