Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Sales & Customer Service team as a Power System Metering Engineer in our Northeast region. A typical day as an Application Engineer - Metering might include: - Working with customers to apply new technologies or solutions to their power systems.
- Designing models and/or demonstrations of new technologies or solutions to teach customers how we can enhance their system(s).
- Supporting SEL products and solution troubleshooting to get to root cause of a problem.
- Analyzing responses of meters and relays to power system faults, power quality anomalies, and load interruptions.
- Teaching customers how to use SEL products
- Contributing to and reviewing white papers, application guides, industry journals, and technical papers.
This job might be for you if:- Have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Have 5+ years of experience with power quality, metering and electric power systems.
- Have experience with revenue metering and harmonics.
- Have a passion for teaching others for their growth and for yours.

- Have the ability to travel 25% of the time
It is a plus if you have:- Experience with SEL metering products such as the SEL 734, 735 and/or T-35.
- Experience with SEL Blueframe and/or AcSELerator TEAM software platforms

Pay Range Data$97,700 - 160,000 per year. We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
