Power Markets Analyst, Client Solutions

Description

We are currently looking for a motivated Power Markets Analyst to join the team in Austin, to support the growth of Chronos, Aurora's battery valuation software, available in ERCOT and CAISO, and expanding to all US ISOs in July 2026. Reporting to the Manager of Client Solutions for North America, this role sits cross-functionally between Aurora's Advisory, Product, Research, and Commercial teams, and combines battery market expertise while supporting client-facing analysis and providing structured feedback to internal product teams.

The successful candidate will combine nodal US power markets knowledge with keen analytical ability, and a knack for client-facing interactions. They will be a fast learner who excels in a highly collaborative role and will be able to navigate the complexities of power market forecasting software, while also being able to articulate these complex results to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical support for client transaction-related work by running nodal, site-specific battery valuations in Chronos.
  • Enable client access to pre-release software features and novel insights via internal analyses, in collaboration with internal Advisory, Research, Modeling and Product teams.
  • Deliver specialized client training, demonstrating workflows and guiding users through the creation and interpretation of site-specific valuation outputs.
  • Compile and communicate client feedback to Product teams in order to inform product strategy.


What we are looking for

Required attributes:
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in an analytical and knowledge-driven role
  • Strong analytical capabilities in engineering, business, economics, or similar
  • Results-driven, with a high degree of persistence in reaching goals and a hands-on approach to ensuring targets are achieved
  • Strong communication skills with a knack for client-facing interactions
  • Strong team player, with a track record of success in team environments

Desirable attributes:
  • Eastern US power markets experience (NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM)
  • ERCOT and/or CAISO power markets experience
  • Professional exposure to energy and power markets
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g. SQL, Python, R, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in a client-facing role
