Full Job Description

Role and Scope of Position:
Under minimal supervision, conduct or oversee work, as assigned by Management, associated with Load Settlement reporting in support of ISO-NE wholesale electricity markets, in accordance with approved processes and procedures for the Load Settlement & Analysis Department. This may range from running daily processes to conducting ad-hoc analyses and/or special projects.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides timely and accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ISO-NE and other key stakeholders (i.e., FERC, state regulators, and competitive suppliers) concerning load, tie line, and generation assets.
  • Provides accurate metering and billing data to ISO-NE, suppliers and other parties both internal and external to Eversource.
  • Operates or oversees the Load Settlement System applications, as directed while assisting with updating the model to incorporate new suppliers, generators and changes in electric system configuration and operation.
  • Develops estimation and reconciliation techniques for the electric business based on the assessment of the external environment including development of appropriate documentation. Identifies and implements streamlining opportunities.
  • Recommends, develops and maintains business and SOX controls for the Load Settlement System to ensure proper reporting.
  • Recommends, creates, and maintains documentation of key procedures.
  • Conducts or oversees application testing, as needed.
  • Provides support in preparation of expert testimony and prepares responses to data requests for regulatory proceedings pertaining to load estimation and reconciliation processes, procedures and techniques. As needed, be a backup resource for regulatory hearings.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with other departments/companies that Load Settlement interacts with routinely (Billing, Meter Systems and Data Management, IT support, etc.)
  • Works with management on current department initiatives.


Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Required:
  • Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail,
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated skill using and manipulating large computer data bases
  • Knowledge of Load Settlement and/or other RTOs (such as NYISO, PJM, etc.)

Preferred:
  • PC computer skills (i.e., SAS programming, AQT, SQL, VBA)
  • Experience with the Eversource billing systems

Desirable:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the ISO-NE wholesale electricity market and the Eversource electrical system. Understanding of ISO-NE tariff as it relates to Load Settlement.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics/Finance, Engineering, other data intensive field, or equivalent related experience

Experience:
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience required


Working Conditions:
  • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment which includes sitting at a desk, attending meetings and the use of computers and completion of paperwork. Job may require some driving and traveling from time to time.

  • Work includes evaluating, analyzing, calculating, and comparing data, writing and reviewing documentation, and implementing hardware and software changes to support the Load Settlement responsibilities.

$114,030.00-$126,700.00
