General Summary:
As a Qualcomm PMIC Systems Engineer you will research, specify, design, develop, integrate, and verify power management hardware and software solutions at the chipset and/or feature level. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system-level performance and power metrics meet and exceed industry and customer expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 1+ year of Software, Hardware, Electrical, Systems, or related engineering work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: SMPS, LDO, Buck Converters, Boost Converters, Clock system generation and distribution, Battery charging and USB, Wireless battery charger, Battery fuel gauging, Haptics ERM/LRA, Precision references, Mobile phone hardware, PWB design, Chipset infrastructure and digital interfaces.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Applies knowledge of PMIC Systems to assist in the research, design, and development hardware and software solutions at the chipset and/or feature level.
• Specifies power management products, functions, and supporting software to meet chipset level requirements.
• Assists in test platform HW/SW development, test planning, and post-silicon verification.
• Triages problems at the system-level to determine root cause.
• Applies expertise in power electronics (switch mode and linear), high bandwidth/low latency control interfaces, thermal analysis, power distribution networks, firmware coding, Python or similar scripting languages, PCB layout and construction, battery chemistry and industry standard interfaces in order to define, design, test, integrate and produce power management systems.
• Develops and reviews PCB schematics and design layouts for a specific sub-system of chipset design under guidance from more senior engineers.
• Utilizes design and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Excel and Mentor Graphics to execute the system design of a specific chipset and/or feature.
• Documents basic details about components, data, and functionality for a PMIC.

• Works under supervision.
• Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$93,200.00 - $139,800.00
