Delta Electronics (Americas) Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and creative Power Electronics Engineer with broad knowledge and experience to perform R&D projects for the next-generation datacenter power solutions and extreme fast DC charging. You will be working at Milan M. Jovanović Power Electronics Lab, located in Research Triangle Park, NC. (www.deltartp.com) Key Responsibilities • Performing advanced research, development, and testing of power electronics technologies for high power, medium voltage applications • Working closely with R&D and product development teams to propose new power solutions, analyze trade-offs and run test verification • Building and maintaining technical competency in high power electronics for medium voltage systems Minimum Qualifications • M.S. degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering • Fresh and experienced candidates are welcome to apply. • Prospective candidates should possess excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. • You must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaborate with other team members locally and abroad. • Deep knowledge in circuit topologies, soft-switching techniques, modeling and control of various types of power converters • Hands-on experience in designing, debugging, and testing power converters • Familiarity with control theory and implementation using digital controllers • Proficiency in power-electronics simulation tools such as: MATLAB/Simulink, SIMPLIS, PLECS, and MathCAD • Solid understanding of high frequency magnetic component design and multi-physics simulation tools • Knowledge on high voltage insulation concepts and e-field mitigation techniques Preferred Qualifications • Solid understanding of multi-level converter and its applications • Solid understanding of wide band gap power semiconductor device characteristics, driving circuitry and protection • Familiarity with power architectures for EV charging, datacenters, renewable energy, and energy storage systems • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for power-electronics converter Design • Knowledge and experience about insulation design for power converters • Knowledge and experience about protection circuit such as DC circuit breakers etc. Benefit at Delta Electronics Americas Life at Delta #LI-DM
