Position Overview

As a Portfolio Manager II within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Chicago, IL or New York, NY.

The Portfolio Manager II is responsible for leading a strategic portfolio of enterprise technology initiatives focused on enabling a secure, resilient, and scalable path to production. This role oversees a portfolio spanning cloud transformation, data center modernization, migration programs, hosting services, and production readiness initiatives. The Portfolio Manager II partners with senior technology and business leaders to drive execution, governance, risk management, and delivery excellence across complex programs that support enterprise resiliency and innovation objectives.

This role will play a critical role in advancing cloud and AI-enabled capabilities while ensuring strong governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and operational resilience practices are embedded throughout the portfolio lifecycle.

• Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic technology initiatives focused on:
oCloud transformation and hosting solutions

• Establish portfolio governance, reporting, and execution frameworks to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, budgets, timelines, and risk requirements.
• Drive delivery excellence across complex programs, ensuring successful implementation of technology solutions that improve reliability, scalability, security, and customer experience.
• Partner with technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and business stakeholders to prioritize investments and optimize portfolio outcomes.
• Develop and maintain portfolio metrics, executive reporting, and performance dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and resource management activities across the portfolio.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate portfolio-level risks, dependencies, and issues while promoting proactive risk management practices.
• Enable the extraction and utilization of well-curated enterprise data to support analytics, AI-driven capabilities, and data-informed decision making.
• Ensure solutions adhere to best-in-class security standards and regulatory requirements while supporting enterprise resiliency objectives.
• Support emerging AI initiatives by establishing strong governance, controls, and risk management practices that protect the organization while enabling innovation.
• Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams to accelerate delivery and improve business and technology outcomes.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Portfolio, program, or project management experience leading large-scale technology initiatives.
• Experience managing enterprise technology portfolios involving cloud platforms, infrastructure modernization, data centers, migrations, or production services.
• Strong understanding of portfolio governance, risk management, financial management, and executive-level reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience driving technology transformation programs from strategy through execution and operationalization.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Experience with enterprise resilience, operational risk management, cybersecurity, or business continuity programs.
• Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI practices, and emerging AI risk frameworks.
• Experience supporting data strategy, large-scale data platforms, analytics, or AI-enabled solutions.
• Previous experience within highly regulated industries, including financial services.
• Experience leading financial transformation or large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Proven success navigating complex organizations and influencing senior executive stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to balance innovation, governance, risk management, and delivery execution in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

  • Manages the facilitation and coordination of all assigned portfolios. Leads complex portfolios requiring planning, oversight, and communication across multiple segments, channels, or lines of business. Typically, portfolio size may reach or exceed $70m.
  • Manages the development and approval process for strategic initiative governance for assigned portfolios.
  • Participates in the development and review of analysis and reporting information related to key strategic portfolio milestones.
  • Oversight and accountability for the portfolio budget while working to ensure success of the portfolio.
  • Coordinates across multi-disciplinary functions and manages vender relationships to ensure success of the portfolio. Coordinates with project and program managers/teams as needed.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $91,000.00 - $202,800.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
