Platform Operations Lead
The Opportunity:

Platform operations require a unique blend of cloud engineering expertise, operational rigor, and leadership. As a Senior Platform Operations Lead, you understand how to build resilient systems, ensure operational excellence, and maintain secure, compliant environments at scale. We're looking for someone like you to ensure the reliability and performance of critical financial platforms hosted in AWS GovCloud.

As a Platform Operations Lead at Booz Allen, you will guide the operation and evolution of a secure, scalable cloud data platform and translate your customer's IT needs and future goals into a plan. You'll bring deep cloud operations experience and hands-on Databricks and AWS GovCloud expertise to support and modernize essential government financial systems in an enterprise data platform.

You will lead the implementation of resilient cloud architectures, lifecycle management, automation strategies, and proactive monitoring to meet the stringent performance, compliance, and security requirements of public sector financial operations.

You Have:

• 10+ years of experience leading teams performing platform operations, cloud operations, site reliability engineering, and infrastructure engineering
• Experience operating and supporting data platforms in AWS GovCloud, including IAM, networking, compute, storage, monitoring, and security services
• Experience in managing cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools and designing, deploying, and operating Databricks on restricted, regulated, or secure cloud environments
• Experience supporting production workloads for distributed systems, APIs, microservices, containerized environments, including Docker or Kubernetes, and Kafka
• Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
• Experience in automation for operational tasks, patching, configuration management, and environment provisioning
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, logging, monitoring, incident response, and compliance frameworks required in government environments
• Ability to lead incident management, root-cause analysis, operational readiness reviews, and high-availability engineering
• Public Trust
• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience supporting or modernizing government financial systems
• Experience operating within multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
• Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka, Confluent, Redpanda, or AWS MKS
• Experience with SRE-aligned principles such as reliability engineering, fault injection, and Chaos Engineering
• AWS Solutions Architect - Professional, DevOps Engineer - Professional, or equivalent certification
• Databricks Data Engineering - Associate or Professional or equivalent certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
