Platform Engineer
ML Engineer II
You Are:
UST is searching for a Platform Engineer to deploy and manage our AI/ML infrastructure, e.g LlamaIndex Cloud and KDB.AI applications on Kubernetes Platform. You'll be responsible for building reliable, scalable, and secure deployment pipelines using modern GitOps practices.
The opportunity:
• Deploy and manage LlamaIndex Cloud and KDB.AI applications and similar products supporting AI workloads across Dev/QA/Prod environments
• Implement GitOps workflows using Flux CD for automated deployments
• Administer and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments
• Configure HashiCorp Vault for secrets management and ExternalSecrets integration
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Artifactory
• Work with enterprise Identity Management team to configure OIDC authentication with Microsoft Entra ID
• Create and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests

What you need:
• 3+ years managing production Kubernetes clusters
• 2+ years with Flux CD, ArgoCD, or similar GitOps tools
• Experience deploying and managing AI/ML infrastructure and applications (LlamaIndex Cloud, KDB.AI, or similar)
• Core Technologies:
• Advanced Helm chart development and management
• HashiCorp Vault for secrets management
• Artifactory or similar container registries
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
• Kubernetes networking, Ingress, and Gateway API
• Infrastructure & Database:
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ administration
• Database HA/failover configurations (PgBouncer, HAProxy)
• Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
• Kubernetes cluster administration across multiple environments
• Additional Competencies:
• Strong understanding of GitOps practices and workflows
• Secrets management and security best practices
• OIDC authentication configuration
• Application performance monitoring and troubleshooting
• Nice to Have:
• Experience with LlamaIndex, LangChain, or AI/ML platforms
• Vector databases or KDB.AI knowledge
• Temporal.io workflow orchestration experience
• Python or Go programming for automation
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Toronto, Ontario
Compensation Range: $104,000-$130,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
