What We Need: We are looking for a
Plastics Engineer to join McCLARIN Composites.

As the
Plastics Engineer, you will lead process development and improvements focusing on safety, quality, delivery and cost for a leading supplier in the rail, construction, and heavy truck industries.
A Day in the Life of: - Develop and document process, tooling, and new product development for thermoformed products.
- Optimize productivity, reduce cycle time, improve quality, reduce scrap, and reduce operating costs through continual process improvement.
- Initiate and assist with capital improvement projects aimed at improving plant capabilities through new equipment purchase and/or facility modification.
- Develop and monitor training plans to ensure personnel are versed in new process requirements.
Requirements
What Makes You Qualified: - Bachelor of Science degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years direct manufacturing experience
- Solidworks and AutoCad experience a plus
- Experience in Lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen or other "Lean" tools
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting
Must Haves: - Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- General knowledge or experience with the following processes:
- Thermoforming
- Reaction Injection Molding - RIM
- Compression Molding - SMC
- Material Testing
- Assembly
- Bonding
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop prints and drawings.
- Ability to interface with production and address their needs.
