Full Job Description
What We Need:

McClarin Composites is seeking a high-caliber, entrepreneurial Senior Group Leader to establish, optimize, and scale a brand-new production work cell dedicated to our multi-million-dollar poly tank product line. This role is a strategic blend of hands-on floor leadership, advanced workflow engineering, and growth acceleration.

Reporting directly to the site Operations Director, you will lead the physical layout execution, build out team capabilities, and stabilize throughput for this high-revenue channel. Additionally, you will partner directly with operations leadership to scale operational capacity and directly support the commercial growth of this product line to our sales channels. This position is located at our 15 Industrial Dr. Hanover, PA location.

A Day in the Life of:
  • Lead the setup, workflow optimization, and technical integration of the poly tank manufacturing cell, coordinating closely with engineering consultants.
  • Map, implement, and maintain advanced manufacturing processes suited for large-scale poly tank production, ensuring strict adherence to cycle and track times.
  • Oversee the operation, preventive maintenance, and continuous safety compliance of specific cell assets, including vacuum line networks, inline pumps, and high-capacity molding equipment.
  • Direct, mentor, and schedule a dedicated team of production technicians and poly welders to meet daily throughput targets.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key operational metrics, focusing heavily on Direct Labor Efficiency (DLE), material yield, and quality performance.
  • Foster a rigid culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance. Ensure zero-harm operating parameters and total adherence to safe handling and waste mitigation protocols.
  • Partner with commercial teams and the site Operations Director to scale cell capacity ahead of volume spikes, directly facilitating sales growth.
  • Monitor Material Standard Costs within the cell. Support accurate tracking of labor and overhead (LOHD) absorption dynamically at the period end.
  • Ensure flawless technical execution and quality stabilization for tool paths, molds, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).


Requirements

Must Haves:
  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership, specifically managing structured work cells or high-growth production departments.
  • Proven background in heavy industrial manufacturing. Direct experience with composite molding, industrial plastics, poly welding, or heavy truck/rail component assembly is highly preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with Lean Manufacturing frameworks, continuous improvement principles, value stream mapping, and technical floor layout execution.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs (DLE, utilization, scrap rates) and baseline comfort working within modern ERP/SOP operating platforms.
  • A demanding, collaborative, and highly accountable leader capable of training technical staff while reporting progress clearly to executive oversight.
