Full Job Description
EthosEnergy is currently seeking a Plant Engineer for our facility in Dallas, TX. The Plant Engineer is responsible for plant engineering design, capital projects, and operational and maintenance consulting support. This position is also a lead technical resource in engineering analysis, performance monitoring, data analysis, interpretation and associated reporting for the Mountain Creek Power Plant assets that are operated and maintained by EthosEnergy (EE). The Plant Engineer is a primary technical resource for specific projects and has a level of knowledge in power generation equipment performance, design specifications, operations, and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the resolution/prevention of equipment problems. Lead or participate in plant Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes to ensure corrective actions, repairs or modifications are appropriate and timely in their execution.
  • Perform as a Project Manager of capital projects by coordinating input from the asset team and developing scope and cost of work. This includes preparation of all necessary project documents and cost justifications, bid preparation, prepare project schedules, support installation and testing of the project and addressing cost variances.
  • Provide inspections and support to production to keep the units running at their maximum reliability and performance levels while maintaining personnel safety, asset safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Works with Operations and Maintenance personnel to evaluate and resolve equipment performance issues.
  • Develop and or review the Planned Maintenance (PM) activities on all systems.
  • Make recommendations on reducing operational and maintenance expenses by improving system design, modifying system practices, recommending alternate equipment designs, etc.
  • Provide equipment and system condition assessments.
  • Direct the activities of contractors to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Prepare and audit emissions data for submittal.
  • Participate in the plant HSE programs to ensure compliance with all required reporting requirements to corporate departments and governmental agencies.
  • Prepare and audit production data reports.
  • Supervise/coordinate NDE services as needed. Maintain database of all NDE data.
  • Coordinate and support, as needed, the High Energy Piping program.
  • Provide support for the plant water chemistry control program.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the power industry and recommend modifications or practices that could improve safety, performance, availability and reliability.
  • Performs other duties and administrative tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager.
Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office products and other standard power plant related software.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and quickly bring assignments to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and to identify problems and solutions.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex issues to management and peers clearly, concisely and accurately.
  • Displays good judgment; willingness to take responsibility and initiative to make decisions within scope of responsibility.
  • Proven technical aptitude with a contractual external customer base.
  • Team player able to work with all levels of the organization.
Experience

  • A technical knowledge of Power Plant Operations and Maintenance, equipment performance calculations and practices.
  • Specific knowledge conventional boilers preferred.
Education Requirements

  • A four-year degree in engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers dexterously to operate tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate orally.
  • Sitting for extended periods may be required.
  • The employee may be required to work in a hot/cold or dusty environment at times.
  • Ability to work extended hours if and when required.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally transport up to 100 pounds.
