JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Role Summary

The Planning & Scheduling Manager will complete most complex activities to prepare project schedules for projects of all sizes and provide team leadership. This position will be responsible for guiding scheduling construction sequencing, developing and delivering training, and supervising critical path analysis. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

PLANNING & SCHEDULING MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE
  • Facilitates and incorporates the use of Lean principles and pull planning during schedule development and project construction.
  • Creates bid and proposal schedules to assist Marketing and Operations managers.
  • Leads detailed critical path analysis for problem projects and root cause analysis for issues.
  • Assists with procurement and supervision of scheduling consultants to meet specific project requirements.
  • Reviews schedules to ensure conformation to current best practice standards and project requirements and communicates applicable review comments.
  • Guides the efforts for planning and scheduling group development of best practice standards, including leadership roles in department objective plans.
  • Maintains or exceeds required reimbursability and ensures direct reports do the same.
  • Supports Lean and Pull Planning sessions by ensuring the CPM master schedule is aligned with pull plan results. May also lead and facilitate the Pull Planning sessions, as required by project needs.
  • Leads and supports Change Management delays and claims (compensable and non-compensable, excusable, and non-excusable, etc.).
  • Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understands JE Dunn's policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.

  • Knowledge of critical path analysis for time extension requests, along with how to effectively deal with Change Management delays and claims (compensable and non-compensable, excusable and non-excusable)
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications - Advanced

  • Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy - Advanced

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.


Experience

  • 8+ years planning and scheduling experience (Preferred)
  • 2+ years people management experience (Preferred)


Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs
  • Normal office environment, but may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
