Piping Walkdown Designer / EngineerPlay an integral role in ensuring that piping systems are installed and verified as built to support future operations, maintenance and project work. You will operate as the critical interface between design, construction, and operations -walking systems in the field, validating installation against drawings, and as building. This is a highly technical, field-focused role where your attention to detail and practical expertise directly influences safety, operability, and project success.
Purpose of the rolePlay an integral role in providing field engineering / design expertise post construction to ensure accurate as-builts of facility to support operations, maintenance and starting point for new projects.
You will be responsible forYou will conduct field-based verification and walk-down activities, as-built piping systems and noting any safety or operational concerns / requirements. Key accountabilities include:
- Conducting detailed piping system walkdowns to verify installation against issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs
- Marking up drawings with field revisions (redlines) to accurately reflect as-built conditions
- Contributing to safe execution of all field activities by identifying hazards and ensuring compliance with project safety requirements
- Coordination with piping design team in Bogota, Columbia to pick up red lines / as built data.
What you'll bring to the role You bring strong field design / engineering expertise, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to bridge design and construction
- Piping design with field experience or field engineering experience, or equivalent trade qualification supported by relevant industry experience
- Typically 7+ years of experience in piping, field engineering, construction, or commissioning within industrial or EPC environments
- Proven experience performing piping walkdowns, and system verification on small and medium projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and construction documentation
- Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving field versus design discrepancies
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document issues, provide structured feedback, and collaborate across teams
- Strong knowledge of field systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and support continuous improvement
- A safety-first mindset, with a commitment to quality, compliance, and operational integrity
