Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ping Identity Engineer to support the administration, enhancement, and modernization of the enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) data store environment. This role will be responsible for PingDirectory upgrades, operational support, platform maintenance, security remediation, performance optimization, and the development of custom directory solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in identity infrastructure, LDAP technologies, and cloud-based directory services within AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PingDirectory environments hosted in AWS.
  • Support the stability, availability, security, and performance of enterprise SSO directory platforms.
  • Design and implement directory architecture, schema enhancements, replication strategies, and data models.
  • Troubleshoot complex directory and authentication issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Optimize directory performance through indexing improvements, query tuning, log analysis, and workload management.
  • Manage directory migrations, data synchronization, LDIF imports/exports, backups, disaster recovery processes, and environment refreshes.
  • Implement and maintain directory security controls, including TLS/SSL certificates, password policies, service accounts, and access management integrations.
  • Contribute to automation, monitoring, and operational efficiency initiatives across the directory services platform.
  • Support containerized and cloud-native deployments utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.
  • Develop custom solutions and enhancements that improve scalability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and supporting PingDirectory environments in AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of LDAP architecture, directory schemas, replication, referrals, indexing, access controls, and directory data modeling.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting directory services, optimizing search performance, analyzing logs, and supporting large-scale authentication workloads.
  • Experience with directory migrations, data conversions, LDIF management, synchronization processes, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong understanding of identity and security concepts, including TLS/SSL, certificate management, password policies, secure bind methods, service accounts, and IAM integrations.
  • Experience deploying or supporting PingDirectory on Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerized platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PingFederate, PingAccess, or other Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms integrated with PingDirectory.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, or similar technologies.
  • Experience building automated solutions for directory administration, monitoring, reporting, and operational support.
  • Familiarity with enterprise authentication, SSO, and identity governance ecosystems.
