Qualifications

Full Job Description
Coordinates daily interaction with the nursing during and after rounds for better patient care. comprehensive primary medical services to infants, children and adolescent patients of The Brooklyn Hospital Center and affiliated practices.

Provides care for newborns and participates in the on call schedule of the Department. Examines patients, elicits and records medical information, orders or executes various tests. Diagnoses, develops treatment plans, and provides wide range of coordinated health preventive services, as well as patient care management of acute and chronic conditions.

Serves as the clinical leader of the interdisciplinary team to achieve improved health outcomes for patients and their families. Provides medical services in a Patient Centered Medical Home, which organizes its care around the patient/family in a model that supports shared decision-making, patient/family involvement and self-management. Utilizes evidence-based diagnosis and treatment guidelines to provide the highest quality of care to children and adolescent patients of The Brooklyn Hospital Center.

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Completion of residency/fellowship training in Pediatrics as certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of post-residency medical/clinical experience.
  • New York State Licensed Physician
  • New York State Department of Health Certificate of Qualification
  • Maintain active privileges at The Brooklyn Hospital Center
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Credentialed or eligible to be credentialed in the Medicaid Program in New York
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact with medical staff, patients, visitors, and other hospital employees
  • Strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven organization.
  • Strong familiarity with competency-based curriculum for residency training.
