Location: Atlanta, AllCare GA Clinics (Pod-based model)
Position Summary The Physician Clinical Lead provides day-to-day clinical leadership for physicians within AllCare GA clinics while maintaining direct patient care responsibilities. This role promotes consistent, high-quality, evidence-based care by serving as a primary resource for clinical policy interpretation, workflow guidance, and provider practice support. The Clinical Lead collaborates closely with Practice Managers to align clinical and operational priorities and to ensure the success of providers and their clinics Responsibilities include clinical guidance, onboarding support, provider coaching, and issue escalation. Clinical leads directly manage a group of providers, including partnering with HR on performance management and career growth and opportunities.
Patient Care responsibilities (~70-80% of time): - Provide accurate, high-quality primary care with a focus on strong clinical outcomes.
- Perform routine physical exams, including Pap smears, according to clinical standards.
- Diagnose and treat common medical conditions using evidence-based care.
- Counsel patients on preventive care, wellness, and health promotion.
- Manage urgent primary care complaints efficiently and appropriately.
- Collaborate with the care team to support coordinated, high-quality care.
- Review labs and clinical documents promptly and accurately.
- Complete EMR documentation within 72 hours.
- See approximately 2-2.2 patients per hour, including walk-ins as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and clear communication with patients and staff.
Clinical Leadership Responsibilities (~20-30% of time) - Partner with Practice Managers to align clinical and operational priorities.
- Provide clinical leadership and decision support for assigned pod providers.
- Serve as a resource for clinical policy, workflow, and practice standard questions; escalate as needed.
- Support provider onboarding, including workflows, documentation, inbox management, escalation pathways, and role expectations.
- Provide peer coaching on workflows, documentation, protocol adherence, and identified training needs.
- Reinforce adherence to clinical protocols, practice agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with the Medical Director on provider education, policy updates, and follow-up training.
- Conduct chart review, quality monitoring, coaching opportunities, and escalation of trends.
- Assess provider-related clinical or operational concerns, including workflow, quality, and professionalism issues.
- Lead the adoption of new workflows, protocols, service lines, and provider support initiatives.
- Use quality, patient experience, throughput, documentation, and training data to support pod-level improvement.
Requirements
Qualifications Required - Current, unrestricted Physician (Family Medicine Preferred) license and authorization to practice in the State of Georgia.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in primary care, pediatric care, urgent care, family medicine, or a comparable ambulatory setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead peers, influence change, and support consistent clinical practice in a team-based environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to address provider questions, provide coaching, manage conflict professionally, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Experience with, or demonstrated ability in, provider onboarding, peer mentoring, education, or training support.
- Working knowledge of clinical protocols, scope-of-practice requirements, and collaborative or practice agreement expectations relevant to the role.
- Proficiency with EHR systems, clinical inbox workflows, documentation standards, and performance or quality data.
Preferred - Previous experience in clinical lead, medical director support, or supervisory capacity.
- Experience partnering with operations leaders or Practice Managers in a multi-site or high-growth clinic environment.
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives, documentation review activities, and/or protocol standardization efforts.
- Experience onboarding, mentoring, or training advanced practice providers.
- Familiarity with ambulatory compliance expectations, provider readiness processes, and implementation of new clinical workflows.
