Department Summary

This position provides physical therapy evaluation and treatment to patients at OhioHealth O'Bleness hospital, per the contract with Ohio University Therapy Associates.

Performs evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal deficits and impairments of all ages. The incumbent will formulate a treatment plan and recommendations based on his/her assessment. Supervises physical therapy assistants, including directing treatment plans, establishing goals and co-signing all their documentation. Supervises students, volunteers and other support staff in the clinic setting.

The incumbent will serve as a clinical instructor for graduate students in the clinic setting. Attend staff meetings, participate in marketing calls to promote services and provide education to potential referral sources and other duties as assigned by the Director.

Position Profile

Provides physical therapy to patients to restoring physical functions following a disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Works with patients adjusting to a disability to help them achieve maximum physical performance. Studies, evaluates, and records physical therapy activities and progress. Educates patients on best practices to restore physical functioning.

Level Summary

Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports.

May have budgetary responsibility for small-scale projects or initiatives.

Solves complex problems, often with limited guidance.

Works independently; seeks guidance for unusual situations.

Communication and Collaboration

Physical Requirements

The position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, and travel. Candidates must possess strong communication, auditory, and visual skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, or pull between 20 and 50 pounds. The role may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and 3 or more years of related professional experience. License or license eligible to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Ohio.

Preferred Qualifications

Incumbent will have experience treating patients with neurologic conditions.
Experience in acute care is preferred by not required.
