Description Physical Therapist
A Brief Overview Organizes and conducts Physical Therapy programs for individuals referred by a physician to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. Helps patient reach maximum performance within their disabilities.
What you will do- Evaluates and plan specific treatment programs upon the referral of a physician.
- Treats and documents progress of patients in a timely fashion
- Evaluates the extent of the disability through pertinent chart findings and objective evaluation procedures
- Administers therapeutic exercise directly
- Teaches rehabilitation techniques to overcome disability through the use of supportive devices
- Assists with discharge planning.
- Maintains and cares for all therapeutic equipment in all patient areas.
- Instruct other health professionals, support personnel and patient, families in proper safety and exercise programs.
- Coordinates schedule of assigned in-patients or out-patients
- Maintains statistical reports as requested.
- Participates in a present in-service program as directed by Senior Education Therapist or Director of Rehabilitation Services. Performs at minimum 1 inservice per year for the department
- Records treatment data and progress notes in the medical records. Reports on patient progress at rounds or other clinical team meetings
- Assists in departmental marketing and educates medical and other hospital staff about services provided by physical therapy.
- Supervises affiliating students as per assignment of the Senior Education Physical Therapist
Education Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree of Science Degree in Physical Therapy required or
- Master's Degree of Science Degree in Physical Therapy required
Experience Qualifications- Experience treating patients of all ages with all types of disabilities and multiple medical problems. required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Capable of frequent lifting and transferring of weight of to 300 pounds.
- Performs other related or miscellaneous duties as directed by superiors.
Licenses and Certifications- PT - Physical Therapist New Jersey Licensed upon hire required and
- BCLS - Basic Life Support American Heart Association upon hire required

Pay Range: $39.50/hour - $46.50/hour
