Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Pharmacy Business Operations Supervisor role at our HUB Pharmacy in Omaha NE.

The Pharmacy Business Operations Supervisor will oversee pharmacy revenue cycle operations and leading the pharmacy operations team in day-to-day operations including analytics, purchasing, contract and licensing, and pharmacy process improvement initiatives.

A strong candidate for this position should possess experience in Revenue Cycle Management. Additionally, expertise in the field of Pharmacy is highly desirable for this role.

Pharmacy Business Operations Supervisor Description:

Support and coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of pharmacy operations in assigned areas. Supervise selection, orientation, training, development, and performance evaluation of pharmacy operations staff. Initiate and maintain effective communication to promote positive department relations across the organization. Demonstrate a dedication to continual patient-oriented pharmaceutical care and constant quality improvement to achieve department and organizational goals. Support the development, implementation and execution strategies that will impact the financial performance of the department, including but not limited to pharmacy contracting and licensing, pharmacy purchasing, pharmacy revenue cycle management, and pharmacy data analytics and reporting. Actively participate in decision-making related to processes for pharmacy areas. Assure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards for pharmacy operations. Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships across pharmacy, leadership, and organizational partners. Perform routine workflow assessments and make recommendations for improvement. Work with interdisciplinary teams to resolve pharmacy issues and optimize the system to deliver a product that makes efficient use of resources.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health science, business, finance, or related healthcare field, or equivalent combination of education/experience (One year of experience equals one year of education) required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Licensed and registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Nebraska within one year of hire required.
  • Nationally Certified as a Pharmacy Technician within two years of hire required.
  • Minimum of six years' pharmacy experience or relevant healthcare equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years' working directly with pharmacy operations or pharmacy revenue cycle responsibilities required.
  • Proven experience as a project owner required.
  • Knowledge of multiple pharmacy area workflows required.
  • Knowledge of the 340B program or training relative to the 340B program required.
  • Healthcare experience, preferably in pharmacy operations, pharmacy purchasing, or pharmacy revenue cycle required.
  • Proficiency in operational aspects of a complex pharmacy or healthcare operation required.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy payer billing submissions required.
  • Ability to lead and develop others, analytical comprehension, research capabilities and data analysis skills required.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute with 95% accuracy required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel and related database systems experience required.
  • Strengths in attention to detail, managing multiple projects and responsibilities, and applying learnings to complete tasks independently required.
  • Ability to translate an understanding of computer system capabilities to address user process requirements required.
  • Time management skills and accountability to routine work deadlines, long-term projects, and short-term asks required.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous onboarding/training experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with pharmacy or hospital revenue cycle practices preferred.
  • Master's degree in business administration or healthcare administration or advanced education in data analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical, business, and/or operational healthcare hospital/clinic workflows preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the organization's policies, procedures, and business operations preferred.
  • Current 340B ACE (Apexus Certified Expert) preferred.
  • Knowledge of advanced database systems such as SQL, Oracle, Access etc., and Cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, etc., preferred.
