Pharmacist - Specialty Pharmacy | Columbus, OH
Orsini Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a licensed Pharmacist in Columbus, Ohio to support patients receiving specialty and rare disease therapies. This onsite role works closely with physicians, patients, and care teams to coordinate medication therapy, review prescriptions, provide patient education, and help ensure safe and effective treatment outcomes.POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for Specialty Pharmacy patients and other customers serviced at the branch location. This position is responsible for interacting with the health care professionals in the provision and coordination of customer care
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Conducting and evaluating medication histories, assessing compliance and suggesting modifications so as to achieve desired therapy outcomes. This role will provide educational assistance to patients/families/caregivers to ensure understanding and to provide information regarding the patient's therapy/treatment. Management oversight of the therapy care plan, including risk-based care assessments and follow up clinical interventions as specified in client agreements.
- Providing specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes including advising and educating physicians on patient issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity of drugs, side effects, and appropriate dosing. Additionally, this role will be a key communicator to the physician regarding patient response to treatment issues.
- Data entry, verification of prescriptions, checking of orders as well as coordination of the activities of assigned pharmacy technicians engaged in the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with physicians' prescriptions.
- Ensuring inventory management between Pharmacy, 3PL and Wholesale facilities
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and client agreements pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and controlled drugs, the administration of enhanced service programs and the maintenance of required patient records.
- Supports the completion of Initial Patient Assessments and Re-assessments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND TRAINING- Requires a degree in pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy - Pharm. D. Degree preferred
- Candidate must be licensed in the state of Ohio. Additional multi-state licensure preferred
- Ability to complete background check and drug screen
- Minimum 2 years' experience as licensed pharmacist
- Intermediate computer skills/knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience in home infusion or Specialty pharmacy preferred
- Strong organizational skill, interpersonal skills and detail orientation important for this position
COMPENSATION & LOCATIONThe compensation range for this role is $125,000-$135,000.
This is an onsite position based out of our Columbus, OH location. (*NO weekends)
