Overview:

Sentara Leigh Outpatient Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacist In Charge

Schedule
  • Full-Time (40 hours/week)
  • Day Shift

Job Description

  • Ensures the appropriateness of all provider medication orders in maintaining a high level of patient care and safety
  • Participates in the training of new employees and the development of training materials
  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
  • Precepts pharmacy students and/or pharmacy residents as assigned in operational oversight of area of practice
  • Leads the implementation of various system initiatives at both local and system levels
  • Serves as a system expert and site lead in specialized pharmacy operations in area of practice (e.g., compounding, drug diversion, quality, and or safety)
  • Resource for the staff on operational issues related to pharmacy practice
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed
  • May be responsible for pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) duties when applicable
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Required license must be valid in the state of practice

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $159,203.20 - $225,992.00 annually.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977.
