Full Job Description
The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)/Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Pharmacy Department including orientation, competency assessment and management of departmental staff. The PIC/Manager ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for a single pharmacy; compounds and dispenses prescribed medications; other duties include maintaining compliance with various state and federal regulatory agencies, capital budgeting, interaction with various hospital departments and participation in multi-disciplinary committees as required.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree or BS degree with a minimum of 5 years hospital experience
  • Minimum of 3 years managerial or supervisory experience
  • Current licensure with the State of California as a pharmacist
  • Keen mental faculties to access patient's pharmacological management and make decisions and suggestions as needed
  • Communication skills to receive and give information either in person or via the telephone
  • Emotional stability conducive to dealing with a high stress level (for 10 to 12 hours at a time) associated with the functions of Pharmacy Services, multiple projects and maintaining effective work relationships with peers
